We are launching the following new features today

  • Updated navigation system
  • Multi country implementation
  • CSV exports respecting selected hour format
  • Overtime reports by shift
  • Employment date field
  • Future employee start / end field
  • Syncing employee data from VIP Payroll

Please see below a description of each of these updates as well as a link to a detailed article regarding each from our knowledge base.

  • Updated navigation system

We are busy preparing for more information on your screen, and in order to do this, we need to make navigation changes to the screens in order to make more on screen space available. You will notice that the left hand side navigation was now moved away so that you need to click the vertical eclipse to access these settings. Please click here for an article explaining the detail of this.

  • Multi country implementation

When clients need to do cross border implementations, our system limited branches to only allow you to specify the cities in the branch that the company profile was created. This also limited the legislative changes we can do in one company profile to only one country.

With this roll-out, we now allow you to manage as many different countries as you need, in a single implementation. Branches have now been extended to specify the country and relevant city in which the branch is located. The system will then automatically do the necessary public holiday adjustments for each country, based on the branch that an employee is linked to.

  • CSV exports respecting selected hour format

We have an option under the settings of your company profile, where you can indicate whether to show reports in decimal (8.50) or hours/minute (08:30) format.

Previously, this setting was not respected when exporting any attendance or security report to CSV. After this roll-out, this setting is respected.

  • Overtime reports by shift

Based on requests from our clients, we have now rolled out reports that allows you to do overtime reports by shifts or only for a specific shift.

Please click here for an article explaining this further.

  • Employment date

Binary City Time previously made use of the 1st effective date of the overtime rule to determine the employment date of an employee. This logic has now been adjusted, and we've added a dedicated field for employment date.

Please click here for an article explaining this further.

  • Future start / end date on employees

We have added the option to pre-load employees before their actual starting date, with the system only putting the employee actually on the relevant device(s), on the date that he or she starts work.

Similarly, we now allow to add a future end date to employees, to remove them from devices on the date of termination.

Please click here for an article explaining this further.

  • Syncing employee data from VIP Payroll

By means of the API, it has always been possible to sync employee information from a 3rd party application, but we now have an out of the box solution that can be implemented to syncronise your employee information from VIP Payroll. This feature allows you to manage your staff details, staff overtime rule allocation and security access groups, directly from your HR solution, rather than capturing this manually. Please enquire from our sales team if you're interested in this implementation by completing this form.
